A “Frequently Bought Together” scenario is designed to showcase popular product combinations on your store’s product pages, encouraging customers to purchase complementary items together. This feature helps increase the average order value (AOV) by suggesting additional products that other customers often buy together. You can choose to create custom bundles, enable automated product combinations, or mix both approaches depending on your strategy.
By default, frequently bought-together bundles will be shown on all product pages that are part of the bundle. If automated bundles are enabled, they will appear on product pages where no custom bundles are found, ensuring continuous promotion of bundled products.
Go to the Scenarios section in your dashboard and click on “Create.”
Select the option to create a new bundle specifically for the “Frequently Bought Together” scenario. You can also refer to “How to enable Automated Frequently Bought Together bundles?” for additional setup options.
Choose the products you want to include in the Frequently Bought Together bundle. This step allows you to select popular combinations that customers are likely to purchase together.
Define discount rules for the bundle, setting appropriate discount rates to incentivize customers to buy the grouped products. Save the changes to ensure the discounts are applied correctly.
Navigate to the Design tab to customize the appearance of the Frequently Bought Together section. Adjust colors, fonts, and layout to ensure it align with your store’s branding and enhance the product page experience.
Once you are satisfied with the setup, click “Publish.” This will make your Frequently Bought Together scenario available on the product pages.
Choose the template of your product page and click on “Add to store.” You will be redirected to Shopify’s theme editor to finalize the placement of the frequently bought together widget.
The PickyStory app block should automatically appear on the page. If it does not, click on “Add block” under “Apps” and select “Frequently Bought Together” by PickyStory. Save your changes to update the store page.
After adding the widget, save your changes. Once the offer is live on the page, you will see a confirmation in the app indicating that the scenario is now live in your store! 🎉

Whether you choose to create custom bundles or leverage automated product combinations, this feature enhances the shopping experience by encouraging customers to buy more items together.
